This Is What You Need To Know Before You Hire A Roof Contractor.
If you’re like most of us, you only think about your roof when it rains. Why? because that’s when you notice your roof leaks. Although there are plenty of reasons why you should get your roof checked at least twice a year because it’s not in fact the rain that is causing damage to your roof, that’s not why we’re here today. So you have leaks and now you need to get that roof repaired?
You can’t just call any roofer, here’s why, check out these roof horror stories from alliance consulting wherein one particular case a family called a roofer to repair some leaks and instead got mold and which continued to get worst by the day. Commercial property managers and facilities managers have to have the same concerns for their commercial properties.
My company Central Roofing Company has been in the roofing business for decades with clients such as See’s Candies, Cacique. 21st Century Fox, and here are the most important things you need to look out for when hiring a roofing contractor.
Have a list of questions in hand when you meet a potential contractor for the first time and don’t let him or her get away with not answering them. You may want to consider it a red flag if the roofing contractor dodges your inquiries. Here are a few of the questions that you should come armed with.
Are you licensed by the state of California to install roofs in Los Angeles, beyond a typical business license?
Can you give me referrals from previous customers?
Does this roofing company carry liability and worker’s compensation insurance and can you offer proof of that fact?
Meet with representatives from multiple companies. Based on their answers and estimates, choose the contractor who you feel will give you the highest quality roof and the best experience.
Understand Your Contract
Before the roofing contractor begins work on your building, make sure you have thoroughly read and understood the contract. The contract should include several specific aspects of your roof replacement process.
Though hard and fast schedules are difficult to establish because of weather complications, your contract should have a general outline of when different steps of the process will be completed.
The details of the materials the contractor will use should be included, including specifications of shingle/coating quality and style.
Payment should be completely discussed and agreed upon in the contract before work on the roof begins.
Your expectations of the workers’ clean-up responsibility should be included in the contract.
Don’t sign a contract that you have qualms about. Discuss anything you’re unsure of with the contractor before the workers begin the roofing process for your building.
Hiring a roofing contractor can seem like an intimidating process, especially when leaks or storm damage makes time a factor. But if you do your research by asking pertinent questions and practice vigilance at every turn by making sure the company sticks to the contract, your roofing experience can be worry-free and successful. I recently have had some repairs done to a commercial building we have here in California. I have tried other vendors in the past and usually get left with areas... read more that need future repairs. The few times I have had Central Roofing out for repairs and maintenace the roof always seems to be in better operating condtion then prior to the repairs made by them. I highly suggest Central Roofing for roof repairs at our various buildings.

I never write reviews but Central Roofing has impressed me so much by doing such an excellent job that I want to spread the word so that others are aware... read more of this talented roofing company and team. We have a large commercial roof over five tenant businesses. After years of dealing with numerous roofing companies who unsuccessfully attempted to repair ongoing roof leaks every time it rained, I finally contacted Central Roofing, Dave Wilkes their highly knowledgeable project manager, to fix our commercial roof. Central Roofing is the best roofing company I have ever dealt with. They really CARE, are highly responsive, trustworthy, conscientious, dependable, hard working and very customer and tenant focused. It continues to be a pleasure dealing with each and every member of their highly professional team. Central Roofing worked hand-in-hand with me to devise a commercial roofing solution within our budget to eliminate the recurring serious roof leaks. Central Roofing restored our commercial roof and, extended its life 15 years. Our roof restoration took approximately a week during which Central Roofing actively pre-coordinated all roofing repairs not only with me but also the building tenants to ensure no business interruption. Whenever I have a question or solicit their input, Central Roofing's entire team is always very responsive. Central Roofing has my business for life! -On behalf of Kim Holmes
